Making free-range laying hen management easier

Free-range egg producers are faced with monitoring and managing a myriad of variables to ensure the highest health and welfare standards while optimising egg production and increasing on-farm efficiency.

Working with the Lakes Free Range Egg Company and listening to their needs, we developed BirdBox, an integrated hardware and software laying hen management system.

BirdBox provides the company’s suppliers with increased visibility of their flock data to support proactive management decisions.

Features include continuous monitoring of feed, water, temperature, humidity, CO₂, light intensity, power and bird weight, giving daily management and production reports with accessible records for feed, vet grading, and certifications. It also includes alerts and notifications so problems can be resolved rapidly.
